Does my Android phone support NFC business cards?
Almost every Android phone sold since 2018 has NFC — here's how to check.
Most Android phones from Samsung, Tecno, Infinix, Itel, Xiaomi, and Google have shipped with NFC since around 2018, and on the majority of them it's already switched on out of the box.
To check yourself: open Settings, search 'NFC', and confirm the toggle is on. On Samsung it's under Settings > Connections > NFC and contactless payments. If there's no NFC setting at all, the hardware isn't present — budget phones under ₦50,000 are the most likely to skip it.
No NFC toggle to find? Every SmartCard has a QR code printed on it too, so the phone's camera app opens the same profile instead.
QR backup on every card
No NFC, or NFC switched off? Every SmartCard has a printed QR code that opens the exact same profile through any phone's camera.
